American wedding, portrait & travel photographer, Emmarie Jackson features a traditional Chinese Wedding with Jason & Peggy

I am so excited to write about this traditional Chinese wedding I shot at The Green Oaks Chapel. Peggy & Jason were not just an ordinary Chinese couple. Peggy was born in Colombia, and her entire family speaks Spanish! It was definitely interesting, as their wedding was quite the traditional type with the Chinese tea ceremony at their house afterward, even though you will hear Spanish spoken all throughout the reception.

It was my first experience photographing a tea ceremony. The parents of both the bride and groom present their gifts to the couple and they all pour and sip tea to celebrate their union. It was rather an intimate setting without guests - only a small family gathering.

The guest celebration took place right after at a traditional Chinese restaurant that served nine course meals. Yes, there was even shrimp and lobster!
